Kelly Penner

Help us welcome our newest member to the pack. Kelly is our newest dog walking Pet Enthusiast to our Paw’ty Waggin Family! She has so much to offer us as part of the team just as our dog friends mutually do for her in return. Not only does Kelly have deep-roots here within the Fraser Valley as a Métis Citizen within a local chartered community, she also volunteers to assist the local Métis Association stay organized as serving as the secretary position on the board.

Kelly also enjoys contributing her love and knowledge of plants, trees and flowers into gardening while implementing the most culturally appropriate combinations that are most beneficial for Mother Earth at the Heritage House as the Horticulturist. Kelly is a dog mom to Woodson (our other newest team member) the adorable beagle you may recall seeing pictures of in recent social
media posts. Woodson has been assisting in adding quality stimulation into our small group or paired walks for our furry four-legged pals and making valuable friendships among the process.

This has been exceptionally helpful in order to break up the weekly routine while adding value and integration for our young pup friends who haven’t had the opportunities to socialize during the recent pandemic and for those just wanting to have an eventful walk to break up their day. As a like minded addition, Kelley relates as being a dog parent and is excited to utilize the opportunities of being outdoors and remaining connected to her Mother Earth all the while keeping our pet friends safe. Knowing her plants and flowers is just an added bonus in doing so. If you have questions regarding plants in your home or garden, and/or pet’s safety, don’t hesitate to ask her.

Land Acknowledgement

Éy swáyel = (Hello),
Paw’ty Waggin Pet Taxi & Check-In Services is based on the traditional, ancestral, unceded and shared territories of the Stó:lō people also known as the “Peoples Of The River”. Our office is based specifically on the Mathxw’i (Matsqui) territory. We respect the long standing relationships that indigenous nations have to this land as they are the original caretakers.

Our commitment

As our company office is located on the Mathxw’i (Matsqui) territory we provide pet care services on the traditional and unceded territories of Sumath, Mathxw’i and Leq’a:mel First Nations land. (Abbotsford and Mission). Acknowledging the historical and ongoing injustices that Indigenous Peoples endure in Canada, our company recognizes the importance to continue respecting the land from Mother Earth that we are privileged too serve on. We do this by remaining mindful of our surrounding environment in small actions by keeping our dogs on leash in order to refrain from potential wildlife disturbance and harm. Keeping them out of streams during spinning season and help pick up debris along our routes when possible. Our goal is to make small differences that lead to bigger and paw-sitive solutions to preserve this beautiful native land.
